Sometimes you watch a movie when you’re meant to watch a movie.
And sometimes a movie crosses your path with a message that you need to hear, or a message you need to hear again.
Hello universe, I am hearing you loud and clear this week.
When I heard The Celestine Prophecy was going to be on the big screen in town thanks to some local organizers I know, the message was loud and clear to me that I had to be there.
For those of you who are reading my synchrolicious blog, you can read about how reading The Celestine Prophecy affected my life here: The Synchronicity of Books.
An opportunity to watch the movie on the big screen with other like-minded light seekers was something I did not want to miss. I wanted to see it so much I actually took a day off work to make this happen.
After seeing the movie, I started to think about the synchronicity of movies and how they’ve affected my life.
Two movies came to mind: The Celestine Prophecy and Run Lola Run.
A study in contrasts some might say, but they share some intriguing similarities in terms of synchronicity.
With The Celestine Prophecy, I experienced the power of the public movie experience in its greatest synchronistic impact, in seeing it with a room filled with kindred spirits, other light seekers examining the meaning of life and where our evolution is taking us. When I saw Run Lola Run at the theater, the room was filled with foreign film fans and action/adventure movie junkies.
When I watched Run Lola Run countless times at home alone, that quiet mindscape became filled with soulfood that I happily treasured alone.
Both the public and private spaces have their place, when digesting synchrolicious movies.
The soundtrack to The Celestine Prophecy is a folksy mix of Peruvian-inspired instrumental music, soothing and peaceful to the spirit. Run Lola Run is an adrenalin-pumping psychedelic soundscape that resonates powerfully through your cells. And yet, both music soundtracks give something tasty to the soul. The Celestine Prophecy floats gently in your ears and makes you dream soft dreams. Run Lola Run pumps your heart with dynamic energy that makes you want to dance dance dance with pure joy. Both soundtracks can raise you to a higher place, in their own way.
Both main characters of these two movies give 4 meaningful synchrolicious lessons to the viewer:
1. When we act with fear, in a fearful way, we attract the chaos and violence of the universe that we actually fear. The more the fear builds, the more bad things happen. How many times have you seen this happen in your life?
2. When we run away from our problems, our problems chase us more.
3. When we literally put our trust and life in the hands of the universe and that Higher Source (whatever we call it), we take a leap of faith that brings up exactly what our souls need in that life-shaking moment.
4. Every interaction we have with people around us affects us and our environment. If you act with distrust and violence, that’s just what you get back. When we give back love to the ones around us, we get that same light back.
Having read The Celestine Prophecy countless times, I had no idea how they could bring this movie to the big screen. For those of you who have read it, you’ll understand what I mean. There is some magic which just doesn’t translate.
But yet, but yet. At first I watched the movie and saw the differences with the book alone. And then I made a conscious decision to “pay attention”, which is what I love to do with synchrolicious experiences.
And when I paid attention, I saw messages in the movie, about life in general and my life specifically, that I need to absorb now, in this point of time and space.
Some of it was paying attention to the negative spots and control dramas I still need to clear away. But I was also happy to discover a huge spot of synchrolicious energy a recurring theme in my life.
For a little while now, I have been having wonderful weekly get-togethers with two good male friends of mine. We talk about the most sublime and serious concepts of life, the world, and so much more. And we also get as silly as silly gets, with lots of spontaneous high-fiving like a bunch of kids would do. And how we laugh.
The energy from this wonderful weekly gathering is so high from a mutual sharing; it is exactly as described in The Celestine Prophecy, when people share love and light with each other. With no control dramas, no one wanting to dominate the conversation, but 3 friends wanting their friends to share and speak and sending energy to that friend, one at a time. To hear that story and hear those thoughts. In this way, each one of us has helped each other deal with issues in our lives and also celebrate our small victories.
It truly represents the best synchrolicious sharing from The Celestine Prophecy insights. It is so freeing and such a blessing
And that is something I always take from taking in these messages from the synchrolicious movies I need to watch.
The blessings of life and my life and how I am truly blessed by it.
